Welcome to Longmile Builders Limited

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Karl spent several years travelling internationally and racing mountain bikes on the UCI World Cup circuit. During the off-seasons, he worked in a variety of construction industry roles, gaining valuable hands-on experience and developing a strong work ethic.

In 2004, Karl began a building apprenticeship in Wellington. After completing his apprenticeship, he worked and lived in Tauranga, Cooks Beach, and Palmerston North, building a broad range of skills and experience across residential construction projects.

After three years trading as K Paterson Construction, Karl relocated back to his hometown of Rotorua in 2013. In 2018, he rebranded the company as Longmile Builders Limited—a tribute to the Road that leads to the iconic Whakarewarewa Forest, a place where he has spent countless hours riding, training, and enjoying the outdoors.

Today, Karl leads Longmile Builders with the same dedication and determination that helped him compete at an international level. He prides the company on its enthusiasm, attention to detail, and client-focused approach, working closely with homeowners to deliver quality craftsmanship and a positive building experience from start to finish.
